Highlights

PtMS IS new feature - Dispatcher's Report. This new feature should help schedulers review schedules. There is a customization option on the report menu for this report which allows you to select fonts, headers and display items. Multiple report sorts and record selection are available. More detail and sample screen shots are available in the PtMS IS section on this page.

PtMS IS new feature - Moving Multiple Trips from one vehicle to another. This new feature should help schedulers reorganize schedules. You can click and drag to highlight a group of trips on one vehicle's schedule, then right click on a new vehicle in the vehicle list, select "Move Trips to This Vehicle" and all the trips are moved. A slide show in the PtMS IS section on this page shows this feature in detail.

PtMS Windows based Menu System News and Update Notes - Revised 03/24/07

PtMS users are now moving to the new Windows based PtMS menu system. This new user interface provides a consistent and simple means to navigate to all of the scheduling and reporting tools within PtMS.

Revisions

03/24/07 The PtMS Menu download link on the ABS website Support/Download Product Updates page is now designed to download and install only updates to your PtMS Menu software. A new revision to the Admin Menu will simplify users updates to PtMS IS, PtMS 7.2 etc. Click here for a description of how to install this update and how it will simplify updating your system.

Should you need to install a copy of the PtMS Menu system on a new workstation, you can simply copy the C:\Program Files\ABS\PtMSMenu folder from an exisitng workstation to your new workstation, or concact ABS for a download installer link for a new copy of the software.

Streets on a Disk News and Update Notes - Revised 05/10/07

Klynas Engineering has improved their web site services (www.klynas.com) and now offers users the ability to download map updates as well as software updates from their web site.

In addition, Streets mapping software now includes an automatic update feature that will download updates to the software and all active county maps by clicking on the help menu/check for web updates option.

You can review the latest updates to Streets by viewing their "What's New" page.

Streets training videos are on-line at www.klynas.com/help.html. These 2 introductory videos review how to zoom, scroll, id features, and create short travel routes, and how to use the search menus.

Revisions

05/10/07 Rev 18 maps for the entire USA. are now available. If you have Priority Updates you can download these map updates from the Klynas website. Multiple route stops at the same address are now easier to see on the map.

03/17/07 The company "TeleAtlas" offers high quality mapping data that can be used with Streets On A Disk. In most cases, standard Streets On A Disk maps (based on government data) will find most addresses. However in areas of high growth, additional map layers can be helpful in finding addresses in some zip codes. TeleAtlas web site is located at: http://www.esri.com/data/download/teleatlas/index.html. Individual zipcodes can be purchased on-line for approximately $15 per zipcode. Entire counties can also be purchased.

The TeleAtlas map files are "Shape" map files and will need to be imported into user map layers. Complete instructions for completing this operation are in the Streets on-line help system.

PtMS 7.2 News and Update Notes - Revised 05/10/07

05/10/07 Vehicle Reassignment Screen revised to support partial name matching for destination selection field. This is a powerful new feature that can be used to assign groups of trips with a common phrase in their destination or pickup name (such as "HOSP") to a vehicle. Users can apply this feature to building vehicle schedules with PtMS IS or with FAS XL, or manual scheduling. 05/07/07 The PtMSIS Data Exchange Updated to support the latest features in PtMS IS

03/05/07 PtMS 7.2 On-line Help Revision: The PtMS 7.2 Records Functions: Menus and Function Keys documentation has been revised into the new easier to use Windows help format.
